Published: 19 September 2025 — Quick summary: The Maharashtra government has asked all beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin eKYC finished within two months. If a beneficiary does not complete Aadhaar authentication, the monthly ₹1,500 payment may be withheld. The Indian Express
What is the Ladki Bahin scheme?

The scheme gives monthly money (₹1,500) to eligible women (age 21–65) to support health and nutrition. Around 2.25–2.30 crore women are registered under this scheme. myScheme+1
Why is Ladki Bahin eKYC mandatory now?
After checking the beneficiary list, officials found many ineligible or wrong entries. To stop fraud and make sure money reaches real beneficiaries, the government issued a Government Resolution requiring Aadhaar e-KYC and set a two-month deadline. If beneficiaries don’t complete e-KYC, payments can be paused. The Indian Express
Where to do e-KYC (official link)
The state has made an e-KYC facility available on the scheme portal: ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in. Beneficiaries should use this portal to complete verification. The Indian Express+1

Who must do this and when
All registered Ladki Bahin beneficiaries must complete Aadhaar e-KYC within two months of the GR (Government Resolution). The government may ask beneficiaries to do e-KYC every year to keep records updated. If e-KYC is not done, benefits will be withheld. The Indian Express
Documents & things to keep ready (before you start)
- Your Aadhaar card (12-digit number).
- The mobile number registered with your Aadhaar (you will get an OTP on it).
- Your bank passbook (account number and IFSC) — used to confirm payments.
- A photo/screenshot of the confirmation at the end (keep for records).
If your Aadhaar does not have a mobile number, see the “If you don’t have a registered mobile” section below. For how Aadhaar OTP/e-KYC works, see UIDAI guidance. UIDAI
Step-by-step: How to complete Ladki Bahin e-KYC (simple guide)
These are the usual steps beneficiaries will follow on the official Ladki Bahin portal or using Aadhaar e-KYC. If the portal asks for slightly different clicks, follow the on-screen labels (Login → e-KYC / Verify Aadhaar). The authentication is done using Aadhaar OTP or biometric via Aadhaar services. Step 1 — Open the portal
Go to https://ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/
and look for a link/button named e-KYC, Verify, or Beneficiary Login. Ladaki Bahin
Step 2 — Enter Aadhaar number
Type your 12-digit Aadhaar number exactly as it appears on your card. Enter the captcha if shown.
Step 3 — Send OTP
Click Send OTP. An OTP (one-time password) will be sent to the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar. Enter the OTP on the portal. (This is the standard Aadhaar e-KYC OTP method.) UIDAI
Step 4 — Confirm bank details
Once Aadhaar is verified, the portal will check whether your bank account is linked (bank seeding). If the bank account is not linked, follow the portal instructions to add your bank details or visit your bank/CSC to seed the account. (Aadhaar-bank seeding ensures DBT payments reach your account.) Step 5 — Finish & save evidence
After verification, the portal should give a confirmation message or reference number. Take a screenshot and note down the reference number or the date — keep it for future proof.
Step 6 — Repeat yearly if asked
The GR says beneficiaries may be asked to carry out e-KYC periodically (yearly). Mark your calendar so you don’t miss future checks. The Indian Express
If you don’t have the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar
- You cannot receive the OTP without the Aadhaar-linked mobile. To fix this, update your Aadhaar mobile number at an Aadhaar Enrollment / Update Centre or visit a Common Service Centre (CSC) near you. UIDAI explains how to update Aadhaar details and enroll. UIDAI
- For scheme help, you can also call the state helpline 181 (women’s helpline / scheme queries) or the CM helpline numbers listed on official pages for Ladki Bahin. myScheme+1
What happens if you miss the deadline?
The government has made it clear that payments will be withheld if Aadhaar authentication is not completed. So please complete e-KYC before the two-month deadline stated in the GR to keep getting your money. The Indian Express
Extra tips to make the process smooth
- Do e-KYC from a simple phone or from a Common Service Centre if you are not comfortable with online forms.
- Keep Aadhaar and bank details handy.
- Don’t share your OTP with anyone — the OTP is private and only for your use. (UIDAI guidance: OTP is only sent to your registered number.) UIDAI
- Save screenshots of confirmations and any SMS reference you receive from the scheme.
